Evgeny Sviridov, modern violin & baroque violin

 

Evgeny SviridovEvgeny Sviridov was born on February 17th, 1989 in St.-Petersburg. At the age of five he began playing the violin at the class of Elena Bolotovskaya.

In 1996 he entered the special musical school at St.-Petersburg Conservatory at the class of Elena Zaytseva, since November 2005 Evgeny has been studying with Prof.Popov. From 2007-2012 he has studied at the St-Petersburg State Conservatory in class of Prof. Pavel Popov.

 Evgeny Sviridov is a prize-winner at International competitions:

·       2001 - Third International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk, Russia (2nd Prize);

·       2002 - Fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Xiamen, China (6th Prize);

·       2003 - First Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition, Russia (3rd Prize).

·       2008 - The International Yehudi Menuhin Competition in Cardiff, Great Britain (3rd prize and Special Bach Prize)

·       2008 – The 52nd International Paganini Competition in Genova, Italy (2008, Special Prizes for the participation in the final, for the best performance of the   Capricci by Paganini and Compulsory Contemporary Piece)

·       2009 - The 3rd International Heifetz Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania (3rd Prize)

·       2010 - 17th International Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany (1st Prize and special prize)

·       Evgeny participated in a various musical festivals: "Schleswig-Holstein" festival in Lubeck, Chamber Music festival in Graz, "Earlymusic" festival in St-Petersburg, Bach-Festival in Leipzig , IV Biennale Alter Musik “Zeitfenster” in Berlin and others.

Evgeny performed with well-known orchestras, such as Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, St-Petersburg State Philharmonic,

Moscow Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" (Yury Bashmet, Principal Conductor).

He regularly plays concerts as a soloist and with chamber ensembles in Russia, Europe, USA and South America.

Evgeny also participated in master-classes with Grigori Zhislin, Zakhar Bron, Maria Leonhardt, Andrey Reshetin, Helmut Zehetmair, Hatto Beyerle, Pamela Frank, Pierre Amoyal, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Boris Kushnir, Boris Garlitsky, Christian Tetzlaff, Rainer Kussmaul, Andrew Lawrence-King.

Evgeny Sviridov has recorded his debut CD with sonatas by J.S.Bach and H.I.F.Biber;

Evgeny Sviridov is an active participant of unique project Vivaldi Collection www.vivaldi.ee (Directed by Grigori Maltizov),
