Katrin Lazar (Baroque Bassoon, Baroque Flute)

Katrin LazarKatrin Lazar studied recorder and baroque bassoon at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main with Prof. Michael Schneider and Christian Beuse. In 2004/2005 Katrin was awarded a DAAD scholarship to study both instruments at the Koninklijk Conservatorium, Den Haag. There she studied with Peter van Heyghen and Donna Agrell.
Currently she lives in Munich, Germany, and works as a freelance artist, performing regularly with various baroque ensembles. These include the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Cantus Cölln, Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble, Hofkapelle München, Elbipolis, Les Passions de l`Ame and the Barocksolisten München of which she is a founding member.
Renowned conductors with whom she has worked include René Jacobs, Ton Koopman, Trevor Pinnock, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Thomas Hengelbrock, Konrad Junghänel, Michael Schneider, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Andreas Spering, Alfredo Bernardini, Marcus Creed, and Ivor Bolton. She has toured extensively all over Europe, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico.
Katrin Lazar can regularly be heard in radio broadcasts and recording projects.
From April 2013 on she holds the teaching post for historical bassoon at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen.
