Baiba Bartkeviča - Ley

Bartkeviča

Baiba Bartkeviča is born in Latvia. She studied piano and conducting at the National Conservatory in Riga, prof. A. Veismanis, E. Racevskis. Classical singing studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, prof. R.Dams, M.Acda, D Forlano. Early music specialisation at the early music department at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, prof. J. Feldman, M. Chance.

Since 1997 she lives in Western Europe and sings in ensembles under internationally recognized conductors such as Frieder Bernius, Philippe  Herreweghe, Sigiswald Kuijken, Jos van Immerseel, Reinhard Goebel etc. She has made many CD recordings and concert tours through Europe, North, South America and Asia.

Her broad repertoire interest has brought her to a several contemporary music theatre projects. She sung solo roles in modern operas such as  "Meneer, de Zot en t'kind" from W.Hus ,directed by J. Ritsema in Kaaitheatre in Brussels, 2003 , " Relief d'un Banquet" music by E.Satie and J.Cage with Compagnie Thor in Brussels, 2004.

She sang Caio role in "Ottone in villa" music by A. Vivaldi, production at the National Theatre in Riga, Latvia, directed by R.Vaivars, 2005. As well she was Kristina in Hotel Kristina production at the Latvian National Theatre of Riga directed by Banutae Rubess, music by

She regularly gives chamber music concerts with 17th, 18th and 19th century music programs in Holland, Latvia and France.

Baiba has developed an unique solo concert program singing and accompany herself on pianoforte 18th, 19th century salon music, concerts in Lindschoten, Holland, Haydn music festival in Utrecht, concerts in Esterhazie, Hungary.
