Pierre-Augustin Ley
baroque cello, France


Pierre-Augustin Lay, studies cello in France with Jacques Ripoche in Caen. His taste for ancient music leads him to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.(CH). Studies with Christophe Coin, Sergio Azzolini, Jesper Christensen. He Graduates in 2002. He has been playing regularly with various ensemble such as: La Cetra, Chapelle Vocale de Lausanne, Vocales basiliensis, Capella Obliqua, Schola Cantorum Orchestra, Gassenhauer Trio, Bohuslav Martinu Academy (Pragua).

He has been performing with artist such as: Gustav Leonhardt, Jordi Savall, Jesper Chritensen, Chiara Banchini, Andrea Marcon, Giuliano Carmignola, Maurice Bourgues, Emma Kirkby, Enrico Onofri, in Europe and South-America. His research passion for repertoire made him move to Holland where he integrates the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag. Diploma in 2004.

He is the foundator of  La Loge Olympique, finalist in Bruges International competition for Early music. Since 2003 is the cellist of Harmonie-Universelle Quartet based in Collogne (DE). He made several recording with Harmonia Mundi, SWR, Eloquentia. Pierre-Augustin plays a copy of a Joseph Guarneri cello made by Patrick Robin.
