2018 - 2017 - History

  • The Marupe Music and Art School in cooperation with Supporting Society of Riga District Youth Orchestra and Marupe District Municipality organizes Nora Novika 6th International Small Chamber Music Competition at Marupe Music and Art School, April 12-13, 2012.   • Pardaugavas Music and Art School in cooperation with Latvian Piano Teachers’ Association organizes the 1st International Competition for boys – students of the education program of music schools „Piano Playing”, in Riga, December 8th, 2011. Rules and regulations are available for download here.

  • On January 25, 2012 Valmiera Music School organizes The XVII International Competition of Young Pianists in Valmiera. Rules and regulations are available for download here (in Latvian) and here (in English).

  • On March 14th, 2012 Sigulda Art School “Baltais Fligelis” in cooperation with L.Garūta’s foundation and Sigulda Municipality Council organizes II International Young Pianists Competition of Lūcija Garūta. Rules and regulations are available here (in Latvian) and here (in English).

  • On November 24-26, 2011 Daugavpils Secondary Music School in cooperation with The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, Daugavpils City Municipality and with support of the State Culture Capital Foundation organizes The 5th International Chamber Ensemble Competition NOVA MUSICA.   • On November 26-27, 2010 A.Kalniņš Cēsis Music School hosted The 5th International Pianists Competition Dedicated to Alfreds Kalnins. Competition regulations are available here (LV) and here (ENG).

  • The Marupe Music & Art School held the 5th competition of chamber music in 3 categories - Piano ensembles, Homogeneous instrumental ensembles and Instrumental chamber ensembles. The competition took place on 12-13 April 2010 at Marupe Music & Art School. Rules of the competition available in Latvian, English and Russian languages.

  • The International Dvorak Society and EPTA Czech Republic hosted a piano competition, please see detailed information here.

  • On Monday, 1st of October 2007 in Latvian Academy of Music Akmens Hall pianist and Head of Piano Department, prof. Juris Kalnciems presented his latest CD – “Juris Kalnciems. Latvian Piano Music”. The CD contains works of J. Vītols, Ā. Skulte, J. Ķepītis and K. Lācis. Annotation by Ilma Grauzdina is also included.
