Ingrida Berzins memorial concert in Latvian National opera

In 1997, we said our last good-byes to Ingrida Berzins, the creator, founder and first vice-chairperson of the Latvian National Opera Guild. Honoring her last wishes, as a  final tribute, her family, friends and all those who respected and admired her dedication, offered donations to the guild in place of flowers. The combined contributions of over $12,000.00 were used by the guild to commission the construction of 16 mirrors in artistically designed redwood frames, needed for the hall-ways of the opera house. These very attractive mirrors, with commemorative plaques, now adorn the halls of the opera house. On June 30, 1998, the Latvian National Opera Guild held a memorial concert of song and poetry at the reception hall of the opera house.

Inga Kalna and Antra BigačaNauris Puntulis

Some 130 guests appreciated the vocal performances of opera soloists Anita Bigaca, Inga Kalna and Nauris Puntulis as well as the poetry readings of Latvian poet Rita  Gale and once again contributed generously to the opera guild fund.

The board of the Latvian National Opera Guild would like to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to all contributors and participants.
