Graduate of the J.Vitols Latvian Academy of Music in 2001, recipient of a Master’s Degree (LMA) in 2003. Laureate of the 3rd Andrejs Jurjans Competition for Young Performers (Riga, 1996), and first prize winner at the International Saxophone Festival “The Brilliant Note-1999” (jazz category) in Staicele, Latvia. In 2000 he studied at the Danish Royal Academy of Music with professor Jørgen Bove.
A significant part of his work as a performer is with the popular funk and acid jazz group Time After Time, as well as Sweetwaterz.
He has performed with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Riga Chamber Players, and the professional symphonic band Riga. He has been a guest artist with the Danish Saxophone Quartet.

In 2006 he recieved The Great Music Award for outstanding performances in Sony Jazz Stage 2006 and other concerts in Latvia and abroad, as well as for CD recordings.
