The ancient and original city of Sigulda lies 50 kilometres from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Sigulda is famous for its historical monuments of the 13th century - Turaida's castle and Sigulda's castle-ruins. Sigulda is the place where the international Opera Music Festival takes place. Thousands of opera music lovers from Latvia and abroad get together during the festival.
